The Light Behind the Curtain

A story for summer.
On the small brightness that doesn’t ask to be seen.

Late afternoon.
You’re doing dishes,
or something equally ordinary.
The sun catches the fabric—
and for a moment,
the whole room glows.

No audience.
No applause.
Just a quiet reminder:
some beauty
wasn’t meant to perform,
only to keep you company.
